Hello, I am Marina
I work as a project manager. I'm a parent. An expat living in Madrid, Spain.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new life chapter abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn’t part of the long-range plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, new routines, and new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built MotorAlleyTapestry
Most online guidance fell into either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Spain.
What this site stands for (and what it doesn't)
This site IS:
- Practical experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated when something meaningful changes
This site ISN'T:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Spain continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Marina
